So where do mistaken perceptions come from, and how did perception lead to so many amusing and troubling stories? Perceptions do not reflect the reality of situations and circumstances and instead stem from chaos, troubling communication techniques, and misperceptions, which, in turn, have numerous contributing factors. A few dozen of these factors are listed below.
